The Third Annual Golf Classic was a fantastic day that cultivated awareness and fundraising efforts for the Woody Foundation. We are happy to have partnered with The Buoniconti Fund and are glad to have raised money for those who are the leading researchers to find a cure for paralysis in the United States.
The 3rd installment of the Woody Golf Classic, which took place on Thursday, May 1 2014, at the beautiful International Links Miami, delivered on its promise of fantastic golf, great food, fun and prizes while benefiting an extraordinary organization.
The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis
In 1985, Barth A. Green, M.D. and NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Nick Buoniconti helped found The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis after Nick’s son, Marc, sustained a spinal cord injury during a college football game. Today, The Miami Project is one of the world’s most comprehensive spinal cord injury research centers.
Based at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and housed in the Lois Pope LIFE Center, The Miami Project’s international team of more than 300 scientists and clinicians take innovative approaches to the challenge of spinal cord and brain injury. They are committed to finding a cure for paralysis resulting from spinal cord injury and to seeing millions worldwide walk again.
