The Woody Foundation is pleased to announce the date for the Fifth Annual Golf Classic for April 21, 2016. It will be a day to cultivate awareness and fundraising efforts for the Woody Foundation. We are happy to have partnered with The Buoniconti Fund and are glad to have raised money for those who are the leading researchers to find a cure for paralysis in the United States.
Dear Friends and Family,
We have officially kicked off our support of the 5th Annual Woody Golf Classic to be held Thursday April 21, 2016 to benefit The Woody Foundation & The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. We are playing at the scenic International Links Miami and as always; we will have the best value, great food & drinks and the most fun of any charity tournament in South Florida. Last year we raised over $70,000 to support both of these charities.
Please Save the Date & sign up as a Sponsor now so that we can maximize our marketing efforts on behalf of your company. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lucy or me. We thank you for your continued support of the Woody Golf Classic.
The Woody Foundation is a 501c(3) not for profit organization formed in 2011 to raise funds for the recovery of persons with spinal cord injuries & limited hand use. The namesake of The Foundation – James “Woody” Beckham – suffered his spinal cord injury making a rugby tackle in January 2011. His family and friends have bonded together to support Woody by making donations to The Woody Foundation which helps others with similar injuries.
In 1985, Barth Green, MD and Nick Buoniconti helped found The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis after Nick’s son, Marc, sustained a spinal cord injury during a college football game. Today, The Miami Project is one of the world’s most comprehensive spinal cord research centers based at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The Buoniconti Fund acts as the fundraising arm for The Miami Project.
